Support Minion Saturday! Contest #3
October 6, 2007Well well well… here we are again on another Saturday. The day that the bosses head out to their country clubs and play golf and leave management of the site to us Support Minions…
As he was walking out the door yesterday, Marc told us to make sure we set up the Saturday contest this week (and that he didn’t want to have to dock our pay again for forgetting like last week).
“Another crazy email?” we asked him.
“Nah… come up with something else. Something creative.” he replied.
So there we were, hanging out in the employee lounge, trying to come up with something fun and creative… and in walked Beenie the Intern wearing one of those funny/stupid teeshirts you get off the internet.
That’s when it came to us! You guys are a really creative bunch… we should hold a teeshirt creation contest!
So, that’s just what we’re going to do!
Contest #3:
Create an original teeshirt design that is humorous, witty, or sarcastic, and make it somehow related to internet marketing, blogging, or online business. You’re free to take any approach as long as it fits within those parameters.
Post a link to your shirt design in a comment attached to this post. On Friday, October 12th, we’ll set up another vote and let all the DDC members vote on their favorite.
The winner will receive $200 in cold, hard cash.
We’ll pay to get the shirts made with the winner’s design.
Everyone who submits a teeshirt design that fits the parameters detailed above will get one of the winning shirts for free (plus shipping).
Then, we’ll sell the rest of the shirts on DealDotCom to the people who didn’t submit an entry, and maybe Marc will give us a bonus for being so creative!
Ok, you’ve got a week - fire up your Photoshop, or Gimp, or whatever you use to be creative, and get cracking! We really need that bonus…

Hey Minions,
technically illiterate as I am I’ll use my fingertips to describe my ‘design’:
as your name ‘-DotCom’ refers to any/all blogs, why don’t you make up a ‘JV’ with some interested + like minded blogging’s’? Hey, it’s fun!:
Design that Tee with a ‘chain’ of all those Blogging’s’-Bookmarks you can get hold/permissions of.
A ‘good friend of mine’ found out there are about 200 or more by now. So you’ll easily find some 2 dozen to join into that All-Blogger-Tee-Association:
Print out or apply their bookmarks socially(!!) like pearls on a chain around the neck seam.
Next (’upgraded!’)level: all the others can follow your example and have their contests as well- a really social entertainment for the hungry + naked masses of bloggers all over the w-w-w
For ‘Level 3′ (the so called Gold level hihihi):
You certainly can develop the basic pattern to some ‘higher’ edutainment of the naked masses - orname it the ‘Infotaining Level’ by adding the question (preferrably printed across the back:
the choice of the act of recognition/use etc. is as usual YOUR part and this could be alternatively developed by Twitters, Diggs, Blogs, Stumblers, Facebookers, etc. etc. on their own .)

Okay, I have left comments, I have sent email, and I am getting no reply. Obviously SOMEONE runs the site, or there wouldn’t be a new offer every day. Can you please post the winner of the contest? I was asked to send in my entries within a few hours to Marc, as if the decision-making was imminent, yet there has been no acknowledgment of the contest since then.
PLEASE at least reply to email, if not this thread!!!!!

Okay…
It’s now MID-JANUARY… the email I finally got (when, early December????) indicated a decision was going to be made very, very soon. It’s not like there are hundreds of entries, and only one 16-year-old working part-time on Saturdays.
I know MY time is valuable, as is most of the people who took the time to participate in your contest. If you have no intention of honoring it, then at least say so. Don’t just leave everyone hanging.
