Affiliate Enabled RSS Feed - Can You Say SWEEEEET!!!

September 28, 2007  Author: DealDotCom

We have now taken this to ludicrous speed (Spaceballs fan’s will appreciate that)!

No more fooling around… we have now enabled…

Affiliate Enabled RSS Feeds

What does that mean for you?

As you may or may not know, we have a “Product Specific” rss feed that is located at…

http://www.dealdotcom/rss

…well, this is all nice and good however it really did not provide any benefit to our faithful and really cool affiliates. So now all you have to do is add your affiliate ID to the end of the URL like so….

http://www.dealdotcom/rss/Enter-ID-Here

…so if your affiliate ID was 1000, then the link would look like…

http://www.dealdotcom/rss/1000

…and like magic, your affiliate link is inserted into the rss feed.

But Wait… that is not all… I have even more good news. I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

Man, I do not think this day can get any better!

- Update - I lied.. this day can get better!

One of our code monkeys (we call him Mr. Chips.. but please do not ask why because he gets upset) has been working over time and he has now enabled affiliate tracking supreme. You can now also add affiliate campaign tracking to your RSS feed.

I am so excited about this (oh wait it might be the 8 Red Bull’s I had… hmm… nope.. I am excited).

PS - I made our code monkey mad.. now he told me I have to call him Mr. “Super” Chips :(

Just so I have this right…anyone that subscribes via http://www.dealdotcom/rss/myid, will forever be purchasing through my link?

  5. DennisEdell Says:

AND - anyone that signs up to DDC after getting there through my rss feed, will then by in my 2nd tier?

    Are both these correct?

  6. dealbot Says:

    Yes!

Be careful though.. your id is a number not your username for accessing your account. So if my id was 1000 then by using the feed…

    http://www.dealdotcom.com/rss/1000

This automatically inserts my id into the link in the feed. Test it for yourself.

This system is not different then using your direct affiliate link.. so YES to both questions.

WOW, the ideas this produces! :-)

Who do I speak with about a promotional idea I have. I don’t wanna step on toes just in case, and I don’t want to put it public, like here.
