DealDotCom Launches in 2 Hours
September 17, 2007The champagne is on ice (pink champagne… reminds us of Strawberry Fanta)… the mylar balloons are strewn about the office… the Support Minions have New Years-ish noise makers, and the Code Monkeys have been temporarily unchained from their desks.
We’re gonna be partying tonight! In fact, we heard a rumor that Marc has a Disney level fireworks display readied (although this is unconfirmed…)
In just about 2 hours (at midnight US Central time), DealDotCom will open up with its very first deal.
To say we’re all excited is an understatement. We’ve been getting paid squat for the last 4 months getting everything ready for tonight, and the Big Kahunas have promised us actual paychecks starting this week if all goes well.
So at the stroke of midnight, the Earth will begin to shake until it splits open to unleash the pent-up aggression of all the world in a rain of fire and chaos, and people everywhere will riot and panic and burn down major cities, and the Four Support Minions of the Apocalypse will fly in from all the corners of the Earth with green, flaming scimitars and terrorize the human race, and there would definitely be something that happens that has something to do with Zombies
…or maybe we’ve been working too long without sleep.
Either way, one second after 11:59:59, the DealDotCom home page will begin showing the deal of the day, and you’ll be able to buy it. We can’t tell you what it is, how much it will be, or how many units will be available, but we can tell you that it’s a product with an excellent reputation, it’ll be at a HUGE discount, and it will be very limited in quantity.
We’ll be back later with another update… the Code Monkeys are flinging what looks like bean dip against our cubicle walls…

Yep, this is the first product. It’s being sold for half price (the product site retails the unlimited license for about $300).
Unless I can integrate it with WordPress though, I don’t think I can use it, and I certainly wouldn’t need an unlimited license, since I only run one site.
Here’s hoping the next product will be one that will help me add 30,000 backlinks to my Technorati authority.

Congrats guys! You’ve got one of those “wish I’d thought of it” ideas and I hope ends up being a huge success. Just a little suggestion - On your first item, I didn’t see the original price published anywhere prominently so people know what sort of discount they are getting. I think that would help sales. Have fun!

If you have a question about the product of the day, you should ask the owner through their support/ticket/presales system. Usually, we won’t have the in-depth product knowledge needed to answer you (plus you’ll have a chance to test out their support system to make sure they are responsive to your questions!)
